WHAT IS CLAY CLUB?

a member-based group offering local ceramic artists and students open studio bookings, firing requests and workshops.

Clay Club is managed by ceramic artist and studio owner, Megan Tarris. 

The fully equipped, thoughtfully designed studio offers a quiet, inclusive and creative environment for a growing community of ceramic artists and independent students looking to develop their practice.

  • Membership does not incur a monthly charge or minimum commitment but completing the application process, studio orientation and signing a user agreement is obligatory.

    Applicants must be referred by the studio or current member.

    Members must be capable of independent throwing, trimming and glazing. A minimum of 16 weeks experience required for membership to be considered. 

  • The Studio offers a flexible workflow process for Members. Learn more here.

  • Members can book self-directed open studio times throughout the week. Sessions are 3 hour semi-private slots, with access to a wheel and other studio tools and equipment.

    Instruction and demonstrations are not available during open studio sessions. Private workshops can be booked to review or expand skills.

  • Clay club offers Members one time skill-building workshops to support and expand their practice. Private and semi-private sessions available.

  • Members have access to purchase mid-fire clay and use studio glazes. Materials purchased outside the studio are permitted but proof of product must be provided.

  • Bisque and glaze firing requests are available to members for work made in or outside the studio. If purchased outside the studio, proof of clay body and commercial glazes must be provided or the firing request will be refused.

    All work must be submitted through the firing request process.
